Cork was in great shape. Similar notes to previous bottles, but lacking the complexity they showed. I'm not sure this is in decline, however, since it's still dark and a bit tight. Maybe just in an odd spot. Enjoyable regardless.
What a gorgeous wine, the same age as my youngest son. Far more Left Bank than Napa. Soft and restrained and giving. Red black fruit, a tiny hint of chocolate, a whisper of Napa eucalyptus. Bordeaux dusty leather. Worth every single penny.
The cork on this bottle was in much better shape than previous ones. Very similar tasting notes to previous bottles, although there was a bit more pepper on the palate than previous ones. This one took a bit longer to open up than the others I've had but once it did, it was just as good.
