Very youthful, strawberry-rich nose. Smooth, dry palate. Firm, lower intensity tannins on the medium long finish. My score is mostly a placeholder. This is not yet in its true drinking window IMHO.

Clearly I am in the minority here. I found this to be thin, one note and not at all interesting. Not sure why this is considered Pinot royalty. From Oregon I prefer Antica Terra and Thomas. Thinking of California, this does not compare with Aubert, Kosta Browne or Rivers Marie. I bought the hype, will wait another 4-5 years before checking in on our remaining bottles.

Return to Willamette; 7/2/2023-7/8/2023 (Portland & Willamette): From the vines on the property itself. This is now about 13 acres in the Dundee Hills. Volcanic soils with a lot of iron that are now almost more clay-like. More depth and there’s quite a bit of interesting. This feels like the style that wants a bit more age to really show what it will be. Very bright and there was almost a hint of effervescent to keep that light style. Drinks nicely.
