La Festa del Barolo Masterclass (The Pool, NYC): One of the best '19s, with an exotic factor that's really enticing. I found exotic citrus fruit (fresh citrus, not orange peel), wild red floral tones, red berry fruit, mint, just a super fresh and appealing wine. Amazing purity of fruit. On the palate, gorgeous sweetness and purity to the red berry fruit, lifted by the fresh citrus notes, medium to high acidity, highly finessed tannins. This showed very well, as did the 2015s from Massolino at the Serralunga dinner - Massolino is making incredible wines.

Lovely perfume with a mix of fruit, floral, and savory. Violets as much as roses, nettles, highly perfumed red and dark fruit. Sapid and expansive. A little polished, but overall outstaindg, maybe lacking a little lift to make it really special. 94

2019 Barolo Masterclass at La Festa del Barolo (The Pool, New York): Clear medium to light ruby. Notably soaring aromas of sweet fruit and fennel. Poised medium weight. Citrus and chocolatey fruit on the black end of the spectrum, light swirl of soil, and moderate ripe tannins that need to resolve but are not at all dry. So elegant in comparison to the other Serralunga wines, and it steadily got better and better. Lovely and full of joy. Outstanding young wine.

Fine, perfumed, elegant, more approachable and feminine than Parafada, Parussi or the 2017 Vigna Rionda. Drinkable now, I expect it will age beautifully.
