  • Gardenia, lemon juice, orange juice and white grape juice (argh, the one fruit a wine can never show) on the nose. Toward the elegant side with a medium intensity of aromas. Palate is more complex, showing flavors of bitter honey, fresh baked sourdough bread, ripe pear and ripe golden apple. A little autolytic bitterness too - the lemon juice from the nose changes to lemon peel. Medium intensity of flavors.

Medium body with medium acid. At this point, this wine just feels like "medium everything". Not sure if it's the (lack of) bottle age or what, but I've enjoyed previous vintages much more than this one, even with similar bottle age. Revisit in 2-3 years, when it will hopefully gain some complexity.

  • It took about 30 minutes for this wine to show itself. Poured into a decanter at 40 degrees F. Underripe apple dominates the nose. There is some wet wool in the background. On the palate, high acid all the way through. Some mid-palate fullness. Others have suggested this might be from some RS, but there is no perception of sweetness. The finish is all Granny Smith apple. Paired with sautéed veal cutlets with mustard, cream pan sauce, mashed potatoes, and garden salad. This was a great pairing!

  • A: med lemon
N: ripe yellow apple, pear, smoke, wet wool, toast, cream
P: dry (perhaps touch of RS), high acidity, med (+) body, 13.5% ABV, med (-) waxy texture
C: very good = balanced acidity and ripe yellow fruit, med intensity, med complexity, pronounced concentration, long finish. I do not beleive this wine is showing its potential right now, rather muted on nose and in complexity, concentration is great and finish lovely but lacking the full package at this point. Just made it to 90 for me. Hold for 3-5 years and then try again.

  • Beautiful with appetizer prior to Christmas Eve dinner. Maybe a tad sweet for a Sec? Noticed it more as the wine came to room temperature so adjust the drinking temp based on your preference

  • Lovely color. The nose shows fragrant aromas of tropical fruit salad, flowers, spices, minerals and a bit of beeswax. This is medium bodied on the palate with excellent concentration and real class. The fairly long finish features a strong mineral element.
