Lemon, quince, grapefruit, toasty nutmeg oak, peach, sea spray, cream, grilled nuts, a hint of alcohol heat, and fly spray.
The toasty oak and alcohol bite the mid palate a little, but it finishes with clean lemony freshness. Almost has a red-fruited sweetness to it, which adds to the plush mouthfeel. Honey pineapple. More lush on day 2.
Opinion: Lovely chardonnay, drinking beautifully now. Nice match with Chicken Shashlik.

One Last 2013 Dinner (Sydney, Australia): Bold, forceful nose - rich honey, passion fruit, oak, lemon curd and spice. The same can be said about the palate, with full bodied richness. Despite the fruit intensity I think it had excellent balance thanks to the acidity and supporting oak frame. Carries very long. Really enjoyable.

Medium gold. Aromas of pineapple, smoke, chalk and butterscotch. High acid, good body, hides it alcohol well. Strong persistent flavours that follow from the nose. High quality wine. Drinking well now but would possibly improve slightly over the next few years.

Aromas of peach and grapefruit, spicy oak, bacon fat, and mandarin.
On the palate, more of the same, but also joined by lemon which seems to be front and centre. Youthful fruit. Excellent length.
Opinion: Beautiful chardonnay. No rush, but it’s in a good place now.
