  • This was quite good, but I think I was hoping for a little more. Hit all the right St. Joseph notes without offering anything extra...

  • Perhaps this has changed quite a bit since it was last reviewed, as the descriptions don't really jive with how this tasted today. Quickly double decanted. Lots of cracked black pepper on a fairly meaty nose. In fact, this wine was richer than I expected. Round mouthfeel, with signifigant tannins that didn't obstruct, but made their presence felt. More black pepper, a meaty quality, some pork components, really just a ton of flavors and texture moving around on the palate with every sip. Gorgeous stuff.

  • Wild and complex. Briary, meaty, and spicy. Thin textured. Aggressive and abrasive. A fair value for the complexity.
