Expected more from this. Crozes Level wine. Good enough for scrambled eggs with feta tonight. Good thing is that it is pretty fresh and has a few more years to go. For once WS note of 88 is right on. What’s it doing in my cellar?

Very basic but approachable St Joseph. Generous, balanced with good length a definition. Not complex, just an easy wine to drink and a really good food wine, great value.

Not as good as the last bottle. This was a bit leaner with less depth and complexity. Nonetheless, the palate showed spice, raspberries, liquorice with a soft oaky background. Quite firm tannins which probably overpowered the fruit a bit although some time in the glass started to bring it together better. Day 2 was an improvement so expect a good future ahead.

Really enjoyed this. Lots of beautiful ripe fruit that has been well handled and not overdone. Quite soft and savoury displaying spice, cloves, cedar and maybe blackberries. Nice crunchy tannins that finish off the wine well. Love the 13% alcohol level rather than many others hitting over 15%. paired well with pasta but overall a great food wine which get better with a bit more age.

Pretty simple but enjoyable palate, some secondary flavours emerging, slightly spicy, dried herbs with drying tannins. Nice wine, nothing brilliant but lovely drinking.
