  • The most surprising wine I have ever drank. Day 1 it had a lovely nose of sour cherry and spice but was extremely disappointing on the palate and non-existent on the finish. On day 2 it had the same nose and tasted only slightly better. However the last half of my final glass was absolutely delicious with a lot of earthy funk coming through and a much better finish. I thought initially that I was a little late in opening this bottle however in the end I wasn't sure if it should have aged it a little more. I would never have expected a Pinot of this low a pedigree to have held this long and still have something in reserve but maybe it does. I am confused.

  • Surprisingly to me this was a very good Pinot. I'd had some doubts about this producer over the years but their new wine maker seems to have picked things up quite a bit.

A light ruby color that doesn't prepare for the punch that the bouquet delivers that is complex and intriguing. In the mouth it is rather lean and with a bit of a mineral edge but still very nice sour cherry flavours. It's not a hedonistic drink but a Pinot that will make food more enjoyable with its delicious acidity. I'll have to go back and try some more from this producer again.

  • I think I was drunk the last time I rated this wine a 96 :). This is a very nice wine, but not worth a 96. I liked the strong peppery flavours on the pallate with a very long finsih.

  • Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels. It had a "warm black cherry and plum aroma, fine tannins and a silky mouthfeel and a slightly spicy smoky finish" and 14.5% alcohol, according to the label.
