  • Aromas of blackberry, fennel, iron, mushroom, ginger, soy sauce, game, and a touch of red berry and singed brown sugar.

The palate offered tremendous depth, evidenced by the wine’s gorgeous color that could most aptly be described as…burgundy. Scores of earthy black fruit, citrus, fig, red meat, and almost youthful tannins. Not a flaw in sight.

  • Opened evening before Thanksgiving, and that wasn’t enough to bring wine into its own. Seemed young, not quite yet wine. Vac sealed remaining half and 11/30/2019 it was truly a fine wine, with mature hints of liquor. As a Bordeaux drinker, my forays into Burgundy are infrequent and tentative, but this adjusted my thinking positively.

Wonder why anyone would order a good red in a restaurant, where they’re likely not going to decant, and of course tripling the price.

  • Drank alongside a 1988 Faiveley Combes aux Moines, and sadly this lost out. Its colour is a deep dark purple to ruby. The nose is very developed and lots of barnyard (sh*t). This was medium bodied, highly tannic, high acidity, with blackcurrants. This is layered and balanced. I thought this was an older wine compared to the 98 CAM or from a weaker year. You could send a cooler climate wine, but the structure was amazing for 21 year old pinot. Served by ST

  • Clear medium ruby; clean medium nose of soil, dried red cherries, toast, violets and wet leaves; dry; medium plus acidity; medium tannins; medium alcohol; medium body; medium flavour intensity; pfn with addition of cocoa and fennel; medium plus finish; drink now or wait another 5 years; outstanding quality; elegant and graceful wine which is showing lovely tertiary aromas; completely different from the 2008

  • My last bottle and I'm afraid that it has faded away. All that's left is earthy, mushroom and mushroom compost. No longer to my tastes .
