Best bottle so far of this, a stark constrast to last bottle 3 years ago. Lots of ripe fruit, nice structure with fine tannins and medium acids. Medium complexity and lenght. Nice!
Seems to have finally entered its proper drinking window. Bear in mind that this was made before the change in style chez Faiveley. Back in 2001 they still made wines in the old, structured style, that more or less needed 10-20 years to be ready. I expect recent vintages of this to drink well much earlier.

This was overripe when opened making be think it may be over the hill. Had a slight roasted profile. Improved slightly over next 3 hours but only rose the level of barely drinkable. Properly stored since purchase.

Flat upon opening. 2 hours later opened somewhat. After 3 hours it was flat again. Not an interesting wine. Maybe it needs more time but it is 20 years old. ??

Tasted blind. Aromatic has a whiff of age starting to creep in, a dusty cherry and cedar. Medium weighted, with a tangy cherry and rose water, all built into a terrific balance of fruit, acid and texture. Finishes with a loamy note, cedar and rose-petal tinged. After a couple hours, this picked up a tarry note, the length increased and the wine was even better. This was terrific.

Blind: I thought this was a very nice, late 90's California Cabernet. Others thought it might be Nebbiolo. Cherry/red berries and fine gritty tannins.
