I agree fully with Jeffe Leve's description and assessment. We left about 25% in the bottle but used Vacu Vin to close the bottle. Next evening the wine had lost most of it's fruitiness - and the typical Pauillac aromas dominated the palette.

Surprisingly good, this medium-bodied, smoothly textured gem is all about its cedar, tobacco leaf, cigar box, herb and red currant-filled personality. The wine is not dense, but it is complex and continued showing well in the glass for over an hour.

Some plum, dark ripe fruit aromas. Plush, silky, soft mouthfeel. Nice. Had alongside the 26 Leoville-Barton and preferred the palte of this wine, but didn't match the nose of the Leoville. 93

DnP. Brick coloured, broad orange edge, 4. Wonderful maturity! spicy ripe bouquet, barnyard, complex. Harmonious elegant palate, resolved tannins, acidity and fruity stuff, long elegant finish. Drink now - onwards. What a positive surprise. 1961 rules

At Bern's, decanted about 15 minutes before drinking, could have used another 15-30. My bad, not some, Rachel.
Wonderful nose of mature Pauillac. Cassis, some truffles, mushrooms and leather. Palate excellent, with plenty of fruit for an older wine.
Just a pleasure to drink and a delightful evening.
