Darker than previous bottles. More barnyard and dirtiness, in a positive expression. Lots of fresh spice on the very expressive nose, although not overly sweet. Ripe black raspberry. Brett and dark earth. Palate did not quite live up to the nose here. A hint of bitterness on the finish of this bottle. Consumed with roast chicken and black truffle. 95+

Balanced red fruit, vanilla, toffee and spice on the nose. Remotely Burgundian in nature. Smooth, seamless, and light on its feet but with significant aromatic complexity. Consumed with roasted suckling pig.

An extraordinary bottle of old Cornas. Clear light ruby color with little browning. medium-bodied with flavors of old cherrywood and roasted meats. Still fairly high-toned wth good acidity and a wonderful rustic smoky quality. the finish is perfectly complex with notes of cherry spice and minerals. Really, really special juice. At Rare Wine Co dinner at Bar Boulud, NYC.

Looked clear with heavy sediment. Ullaged 2cm below cork. No seepage. Cork extracted intact and wine decanted easily. Good fruit nose and palate on first impact with some pepper. Two hours later had started to disintegrate to the extent that I discarded over half the bottle. A lesson not to keep wine too long.

Darker character with only light spice on the nose. Dark earth on palate with fading acid. Not as vibrant a bottle as other recents
