Ever so slightly hazy cloudy, mid to full garnet. Mature sous bois cut through with bright raspberry fruit. Decent weight and nicely bright acidity. Fills a little with air. Enjoyable, especially with côte de veau aux cèpes, and I have a soft spot for it, but it’s not top flight Griotte or Ponsot. Bare ****

92 pts

A little cloudy in color. A savory more than fruit driven nose with earth, roasted meat, iron, red fruits, and savory dried green herb notes. Mid weighted with more ferrous and bouillon- savory notes, cherry fruit, and earth on the palate. There are good, even very good, parts of this wine, but it seems muddled and off kilter. It lacks depth and harmony. Overall a disappointment. 86

Some nice Burgundies (Chicago, IL): Remind me, why do people willingly buy Ponsot? A typically muddy pinot with too many dirty notes. The fruit is browned and dried out, and there is just too much acid for whatever else remains.

Weak vintage lack a power, but still stand up at top grand cru. Enough enjoyable tasting. Gorgeous and elegant
