Dinner (Tina's): Our tasting of this wine was remarkably consistent with the 3 existing CT notes. Drying and recessed cork came out easily in one piece. This and its astounding virility and vibrancy, made me wonder if it had been reconditioned. Modest but fresh and smokey fruit tail off but a very tasty if not overly complex old wine. Reminded me of the '89 Raffault Chinon Picasses so I was surprised to learn that this is mostly Merlot with no Cab Franc. Thanks Gary.

Great nose and still bright. Lots of fruit in the front, not much tannin left and finishes well although a bit short as to be expected from a fifty year old bottle. We really enjoyed the experience.

Still gorgeous clear garnet brick color. Cedary tobacco on the nose. Palate light at first but opens up and fills out very nicely over time. Still holding good plummy fruit and some soft but firm tannins. Finish is short-ish, but hey it's fifty years old.

09/10 Beautiful clear ruby color - good fruit with balanced finish - slight fade quickly but wine held up. 91 pts.
