This wine was again tasted in double-blind fashion. I was quite relieved to subsequently find out that my independent notes and score are virtually the same as those of 4/5/13. Drink now-2016.

Tasted in double-blind fashion, this deep garnet/amber wine did not disappoint. The bottle was kindly provided to our Friday tasting group by K.A. and was (to coin a popular descriptor) "singing." The nose shows a beautiful bouquet of espresso bean, tobacco, plum, mint and loam. The wine is full-bodied on the palate, with medium acidity, melted tannins and nicely integrated alcohol. The flavors mirror the nose and the middle palate is rock-solid. Concluding in long and grand fashion, it leaves the taster yearning for more. Absolutely spectacular! Assuming you have a well-cellared bottle, drink this gem over the next 3-4 years. Drink now-2016.

Ready to drink. Balanced Cal-Cab with still good acidity. Moderate fruit with cassis and blackberry. Again an impressive specimen from a mediocre year.
