Community Tasting Notes (45) Avg Score: 90.5 points

  • Final bottle from a full case purchased at auction in 2007. High fill, pristine condition. Not decanted, opened three hours in advance. Consistent with my previous notes. Classical and well-developed Pomerol nose (crushed red berries, minerals, earth, truffle), slender and ever-so-slightly dry but harmonious palate, perfectly fresh and lively after more than 20 years, finely grained tannins, light to medium body; good resonance and length. Drink up.

  • Eleventh bottle from a full case purchased at auction in 2007. High fill, pristine condition. Not decanted, opened three hours in advance. Mature but lively at 21 years of age. Totally classical Pomerol nose (crushed red berries, minerals, earth, truffle), fresh and slender but harmonious palate, gentle grip from the finely grained tannins, medium body; good resonance and length. Drink now - 2025.

  • Was expecting more. Nose was fine: ripe plums, roses, some violets...palate didnt live up to the expectations of the nose...no tertiary aromas yet...lacking mid palate pressure and length

  • Mid ruby, browning to edge.Nicely balanced, smooth tannins now. Still a decent fruit, cherry and ripe plum. Not the greatest length. Bits of spices and an earthiness. Pleasant drop. Agree now fully mature.

  • Pristine bottle, level into neck, tenth from a full case purchased at auction in 2007. Not decanted, opened four hours in advance. Mature but lively appearance, ruby red core with a narrow rim; classic Pomerol nose, mature but fresh, good depth, ripe fruit (plum, cherry, raspberry), earth and spices, violets, slightly dusty; relatively light and slender palate, fresh and elegant, well balanced, with finely grained but still firm tannins; light and leafy finish, dried cherries, hint of cold tea, good length. This is now fully mature.
