Community Tasting Notes (4) Avg Score: 90.5 points

  • The cork came out perfectly-saturated about 1/3 up. Medium red color with bricking at the edges. The nose is earthy and a little dirty. The palate is wonderfully soft- no detectable tannins at this point. This fills my mouth with smoky cedar, a little manure, creosote, and cranberries. This is a nice example of fully mature bordeaux, although this one is a little over the hill.
After some time in the decanter this is starting to fall apart a little, but there's nothing displeasing about this wine.

  • Mature and luxurious wine with good fruit, creamy, pleasant dose of oak. Still some berry fruits. Completely mature but still in great shape with a beautiful balance between sweetness and acidity. The tannin has melted completely.

  • Mature bouquet with still some fruit, earthy smells and beautiful oak. Round, friendly, complex and a good amount of sweetness. Full bodied and a lot of finesse. Soft tannin. At its peak now, but will hold this stage for a few more years, because the tannin still has enough power. Great wine.

  • Enormously full bodied wine with a lot of power and good tannin. Black and red fruits and creamy. Some bitterness in the finish. Needs several more years of ageing.
