Not terribly impressed with this. Good, not great. A bit oaky. Looks impressive for a nearly 18 year old wine, but to me it is a bit hollow and lacks flesh. I feel like I’ve had more than my share of disappointments from this Chateau. 5-12-15-8: 90/100.

Dark berries and luxurious impressions like some cedar, well dosed oak. On the palate medium bodied, cassis, dark berries, lead pencil, red berries, good acidity and firm tannin. Overall and elegant and classical wine with good freshness, but also a bit disappointing and not living up to its standard. I will wait with my next bottle another few years. 92 for today.

Tight, dense and rich on the palate, very dark ruby colour! Fainted nose of black fruits, a hint of spice! I'm afraid the wine isn't ready for the business! My guess is it needs another four to six years of storage!

Blind Tasting. Dark ruby red with orangey-pink rim. Blackcurrant, dried red fruits, cedar, tobacco, dried herbs, tea leaves, truffles, supple leather and rocks. Medium-high silky tannin, medium-high bodied, medium acidity and long finish. Good grip and finesse on the palate.
I tasted from a 375 ml bottle, but still youthful and energetic. Standard 750 ml should be much better.

Still too early. Tannins are way to grippy and dark blue fruit very much alive. If you open it, give it a full day decant. Otherwise let this one sit for another 5-10 years.
