Blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sauvignon Gris from St. Emillion with only 4,500 bottles produced...feeling blessed! Brilliant greenish-yellow on the eye...exceedingly well-polished green apple...reminds of The Riddler :-)! Aromas of toast, butter and citrus fruits. Lemon, lime, pineapple, banana and creamy butter on the palate with nicely integrated barrel that appeals to the oak-suckers in us...but does not overwhelm. Acidity present, but not overwhelming and would pair well with some stinky cheese. Truly excellent...sadly, our last bottle. When you have a chance to dance with such a rare beauty, you know the sun is shining somewhere on the planet ever so brightly even on the darkest of days...smile :-)

This was a lovely wine. A little early, but still very enjoyable. Delicate, with notes of white flowers. Medium-bodied, this was the favorite white for the wine dinner we had at S&C's in Hoboken with E and K. Long finish.

GJE CRD 2008 and EP 2011; 3/29/2012-4/4/2012 (Bordeaux, France): Although I have been impressed with the 09 and the 10 barrel samples, I figured it is too modern and too technical to consider buying. Perhaps I need to change my mind. Beautifully expressive nose of honey, lemon oil, pineapple, orange peel, limestone, coconut and beeswax. The palate displays excellent concentration, nicely layered fruits and bright acidity. The fruit expression and the body is somewhere in between Silex and Beaucastel Roussanne VV. A great showing.

An unfortunate victim of premature oxidation. Cellared since release. Curses!
