Found this "forgotten" bottle (stored at 55 degrees since purchase). I really thought it would be way beyond it's prime -- probably not even drinkable (I had a backup bottle ready to go). Much to our surprise this was a delightful wine. Very light red color with a slight tinge of tan on the edges. Cherry, mushroom, damp forest on the nose. It still had a good dose of cherry fruit and wild mushroom on the palate and a very dry mineral, but short, finish. Very enjoyable but probably would have even been better 5-10 years ago.

A real treat to taste an aged Oregon pinot that is still holding up, albeit near the end of its life; This is quite tasty as a pop-and-pour, with some aged aromatics of earth and black tea, with plenty of fruit on the palate particularly in the first hour this was open; After a couple hours, the fruit starts to recede, suggesting this should be consumed in the very near-term

Slight bricking but not as much as I expected. I expected the wine to be way over the hill but it is really quite nice. It is past its prime but still a fair amount of fruit and it is very well balanced. Fans of well aged wines will really enjoy this. I will give an update tomorrow when I try the other half of the bottle.

Aromatically - wet dog, and sock funk on the palate a bit better than the nose but a very funky wine that is not going to benefit from aging any longer.

(Domaine Drouhin Oregon Pinot Noir) Group's #1 (my #2) – 50 pts; 7 firsts, 4 seconds, 1 third, 0 last place – light brickish red color; lovely, focused sweet strawberry, vanilla oak nose with tangy undertones of dried red fruit; tasty, mature but sweet dried red fruit, strawberry and rhubarb palate; medium-plus finish
