Bottle bought from the estate in 2003. Wonderful now! Color has slightly evolved but is still dark. The nose is young and intense ( black current, cherry, strawberry); it improves over hours. A touch of solar side but the fruit is very nice. The mouth is full velvety and without any taste of wood, very long. Tanins could be better refined (in recent vintages?), but it feels deep and intense. Great pleasure to drink a Grand Cru of this level. Excellent evolution of this wine that appeared very concentrated and woody when were young.

Tuesday at the Papies (The Papies, London): Opened and let to breath for like 30mins. Very nice but mild nose. probably the highlight of the wine. Well round and drinks ok however we were split as to whether this wine has more to give in the future. Would have expected some more complexity on palate. Good overall but not great.

Whoosh. Beefy, funky, stinky, dank and muscular. Not sure this will ever pull all its elements together but it would sure be interesting to find out. At the moment however it is, well, something you want to split with 3 or 4 other people. One glass is enough. The lack of depth or real complexity beyond the sheer array of stuff in the wine is a concern. It's good but not really special.

Fruits rouges, fraise, épices au nez. Champignons et épices en bouche . Finale moyenne. Jolie bouteille.

Nice red fruit jam on the nose. Ditto in the mouth . Good finish.
