45th Birthday Celebration (Racquet Club - Chicago IL): Black cherry aromas and flavors with roasted meat notes. Good+ density. Most of the rugged character I noted a few years ago has softened, making this more graceful and fun. Will drink well on the young-ish side, 2024 forward.

Christophe Perrot Minot has improved their quality significantly since 2010 and his recent vintages from 2016 is even more polished and refined. This 2017 Charmes Chàmbertin is gentle and even more perfumed than the barrel sample at the domaine. Gorgeous sweetness and delicate red berries. Evidently lighter bodied than the Rousseau CSJ 17 next to it, but much more ethereal and approachable. I guessed Amoureuses 17 in blind. (93/100)

Black cherry on nose and palate with roasted meats hints. Clearly Grand Cru density. Robust start, good power through middle, just ever-so-slightly bitter finish for now, but I fully expect that will soften with time in the cellar.

Medium nose intensity with notes of red fruits, cranberry, strawberry, spices, flora. Medium tannin and medium+ acidity. Tannin is fine. Long finish.

Domaine Perrot-Minot Cellar Visit and Tasting (Day 12, Visit 1) (Morey St.-Denis): Barrel tasting at the domaine. Black and red cherry start with moderate weight. Gets more red towards finish. Good+ 90-92 point potential.
