Vielles Vignes. Dark purple; opaque. Smooth elixir of dark berries. Inviting and appealing with a little tartness on the back end. This is FUN to drink! Actually went pretty well with NY strip steak.

I don't mind tart, rustic, twig-innard sort of wines, but this one didn't have a whole lot going on. Tight, unripe raspberries. Not at all unpleasant -- went fine with our roast chicken -- but when we moved on to a 2010 Morgon by P-U-R everyone was visibly/audibly pleased to have progressed.

popped and poured. color dark ruby. showing waxy brambly dark fruit with some meaty aromas. on palate, this is medium weight, with good acid and tannin structure and medium short finish (longer than most beaujolais). a little skin tannin on the finish. was very versatile with a number of different dishes tonight.

(Domaine Diochon Moulin-à-Vent Vieilles Vignes) From magnum - raspberry, currant nose; tasty, tight, tart currant, red fruit palate with medium acidity, needs 3-plus years (at least in this format); medium finish

Not good. Thin and then sour on the finish.

Drink up if you've any in the cellar as this seems to have peaked. Unless it's really marked down, wouldn't buy more.
