Coravin fun - Ch. de Beaucastel (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Richer than the 2007, marzipan, apricot, slight almond meal, sweet spice over a little bees wax, honey and cream. Juicy, fleshy, apricot, again the apricot stone bitterness but more subdued, nominal texture but quite glycerol, a little honey in support, balanced, complete. Lovely and in a good spot.

New Offline Venue Recce Dinner @ Blacklock City; 9/15/2021-9/16/2021: Deeper golden colour than the 07 Clos de Papes which preceded it. On the nose rich and honeyed, which continues onto the palate. A kind of pineapple, almost pina-colada quality to it, reminiscent of the most turbocharged Cali chardonnays. Really lovely wine - better balanced than the rest of this note makes it sound.

Chateauneuf du Pape lunch (Frank's place in Matraville): From Coravin. Aromas of bees wax, marzipan, almond, apricot and honey. In the mouth it's rich but also quite fleshy with apricot, almond meal, marzipan and a little textured graininess on the mid palate. Nice.

From Coravin. Medium plus intensity aromas of almond, marzipan, cream, slight bruised apple, sweet spice, slight peach, slight banana, bees wax...rich. In the mouth it's rather splendid, fleshy, juicy acidity keeps thing fresh, a little almond skin bitterness joins the fruit, cream and sweet spice. Stunningly good. Wowser. In an exceedingly good spot.

Beaucastel Birthday dinner (Bistro Moncur, Sydney): Fresh stone fruit, honey, quite vibrant with a touch of bees wax...on the palate it's juicy, fleshy, stone fruit and with some mid palate breadth. Slipped down all too easily...
