  Friends over for dinner and wine (Strasbourg, France): Medium ruby color and what intensity on the palate! I have been going through a 6 bottle case slowly but surely and it showed nicely yesterday evening for a fun get together and dinner. At over 10 years in bottle, there is still lots of tension here, with rip red and black cherry fruit, and excellent mid palate density. I served roast chicken (we had a wide variety of wines, red and white), but this should be paired best with fine quality beef filet mignon and sautéed mushroom, although the wine itself merely hints at some tertiary at this stage. Day 2 and just about one or two glasses of wine left and still vibrant and utterly delicious. Long finish.

  Jadot Tasting: Young Blanc 1er Cru and Gevrey Clos St Jacques Vertical (House of Nanda - Chicago IL): Single blind alongside the brilliant 2010. This seems ultra ripe, yet also seemingly flat. Some thought there was VA. Something was off here, otherwise in a very dumb phase.
