It sounds negative but it really gives some texture and weight to a vintage that sometimes feels a bit acidic. The Beze is dark red material laden and while has that clunky nature to it, it feels full and giving. With some time I can see the edges softening. Really tasty spot tho.

  Extraordinary wine that is truly in its infancy. Layers of complexity that was just revealing itself after being opened for 3 hours.

  Side by side 06 (which was a bit meatier, more ready to drink and more red fruited) the 08 comes across as very polished, more blue fruited and with a lot of torque although felt 5 years away from early prime drinking. The quality is undeniably there and comparing it in my mind to an 08 Chambertin from the same producer they seemed head to head. I would drink 06 today and possily 07 and keep 08 based on today's experience.

  10/08/06/01 -- similar to the 2010 with a step down in concentration and spice intensity, but otherwise the meatiness really shines trough and the balance is impeccable.
