EL Birthday Dinner (The Garden Table at Le Pavillon): A good bottle with a solid amount of life. Found the nose somewhat muted but the fruit on the palate was nice. It had earthiness but didn't give up on quality of the texture. Very easy to drink but wasn't the most compelling wine in front of me.

Drank at La Tour D'Argent Paris - A wine that is probably now at its peak. Despite quite some bricking in the glass this wine has achieved that state of elegance that only great burgundy arrives at where it seems to hang as if in suspended animation seemingly before its impending collapse. There is a lightness to this wine with almost no hint of tannin, yet the structure is still there. The natural conclusion one jumps to is that this wine is not long for this world but vintages like 1980 that are far lighter than this suggests otherwise.

Rousseau Chambertin dinner. Nicely floral and very sweet. Whether just old or otherwise, nose was a little musty to me. Table did not seem to mind and loved the aged character.

Rousseau Chambertin Clos de Bèze: 1964 - 2014 (Per Se): Some fruit hanging on, but oxidative and dirty. A lot of vitamin minerality.
