P&p. Interesting to try a ouillé Savagnin with some age on it, just starting to approach the oxidative style; smells good - citrus, honey, nuts, cool fruit along the lines of barely ripe mango and peach, and some nice herbal and spicy accents. On the palate, even more citrus (orange/tangerine/lemon). Some creaminess to the texture. Plenty of tart acidity. Fresh and lively, but with a honeyed, slightly savory streak that hints at the age; cohesive, tasty, quite enjoyable; drink or hold, I would think.

Somewhere between the other reviewers lies my experience of this wine. On the nose this has a heavier, oxidative, Sherry-like feel. The palate, while full, is much lighter than the nose suggests and the acidity is still fairly present. I get apricots, golden raisins, some nuttiness. I agree that brighter fruit or zippier acid would have made this even better, but this is an interesting wine that developed positively over the 2+ hours it was open. Not sure it's worth the $33 price tag, but it was enjoyable nonetheless.

Had some nice nuttyness on the nose with fresh lemon, pear and mineral. The palate was sappy and rich. The fruit was ripe and zippy but wasn't AS zippy as I would have liked. Still very nice.

No, not good at all. Marred by volatility, unbalanced, overripe, just unimpressive in every way. I liked the 2004, so this is a shame.
