Levede ikke helt op til mine forventninger til Dkr 200. Lidt grumset i smagen. Savner lidt en mere ren frugt. Men klart en god vin (for en 2008). Note: på andendagen lidt bedre. Mere harmonisk. Manglede stadig den rene frugt, men den resternede frugt blev mere integreret.

Weekly tasting group #038; France: Rhône white and red. (@ BD): Beautiful bouquet which shows a little development and some complexity; rustic, red as well as dark fruits, truffle as well as some spices and perfume. On the palate juicy fruits, beautiful acidity and good tannin with still a bite. The alcohol shows a bit.

Rhone at the Oak Barrel (Oak Barrel, Elizabeth Street, Sydney): Ruby coloured. Aromas of yeast extract, sulphur, farmyard funk, slight portiness. In the mouth the wine has medium plus acidity and tannin with flavours of brambles, black fruit and pepper. The medium plus length coarse tannin and alcohol warmth. Very nice

Quite dark, with a lovely nose of sweet Grenache. Slightly off-dry on the attack, with good acidity and a slight tannic bite. Solid Grenache fruit upfront, a hint of black pepper and a feral streak on the midpalate, and some leafy bitterness on the back end. Length is medium. The alcohol is perhaps a bit more apparent than I would like. Good now, but could benefit from a bit more time.

Singing now. Black fruits, plums, earth, a hint of leather.
