Medium red color with full transparency and some bricking at the edge. Strawberry, plum, and spice on the nose. Palate has sous bois, strawberry, cherry, plum, and spice elements that carry into a long finish. Really youthful showing. Acquired in 2011 at auction. Not a transcendent experience, but a very satisfying old wine experience. Drink or hold.

From magnum. Pale red-garnet, showing a heavy sedimentation and quite clear at glass edge. Wonderful meaty nose of clove, honeysuckle flower, roast beef, earthy mushroom, black cherry. Cherry and mint flavors dominate and repeat in a very long finish. A fantastic bottle shared by a generous friend. The four of us polished this off within an hour, fearful that it might tip towards decrepit at any moment - but it didn't.

At Singer & Foy survey of older Pinot Noir. Good brick/ruby color. Orange at the rim. Nose has cherry and coffee, still. On the palate, has lots of body. Dense and chewy wine. Good, but on the far side of the hill. 5-10-14-7: 86/100.Great for its age (19 years).
