The Texier Brezeme Cote du Rhones from 1999 and 2001 received strong press ratings. As I often do, I set aside a few bottles to drink aged, including some regular and some old vines bottlings. After around 10 years, I started sampling them, and yesterday I opened the last one. All 4 bottles were undrinkable, marred by an overwhelming vinegary sour taste.

Terrible. Astringent, stewed fruit. Undrinkable. Thought it might have been damaged but then read the other reviews.

The cork was partly pushed out, so probably cooked, plus some oxygen seems to have gotten past the synthetic cork. Poured it out.
