The second and last bottle of this vintage in my little cellar. This bottle had not held up quite as well as the last, but still very nice. Coppermine Rd and Dead Arm Shiraz from this era have generally held up very well. This bottle had good colour and flavour, but the nose was tending towards hay (but not in an unpleasant way). Very much a tertiary cab sav, but still very much drinkable.

From the bigger is better period in Australia, this is more measured than a lot of wines from that period. Kept at a cooler than summer room temperature, it held the alcohol in check, which allowed the red currant and berry fruit to shine alongside some cedar and tobacco developed notes. Medium bodied and with only a touch of tannin showing it was quite drinkable, and a very pleasant surprise surprise from my late father’s cellar. Good thing too, as there are several more bottles!

Stored at 54 degree since purchase. Excellent! Still with a good fruit, tar and licorice. Soft tannins, Almost bordeaux like because of slight tobacco elements

In a really good place. Red fruit, tannins present but soft, old library vibes. Delish.
