I am big fan of this! Especially with grilled rib eye steak. Deep ruby colour with garnet rim. Nose is developed with dried fruits, pine and some mint and dark plum jam. Smoot and very balaced palate is a delight. Definitely at it's peak when you compare this to 1998 which is still a youngster compared to this one.
Drank at Ned WWS tasting, and was 1 of the faves of the nite. Inky dark color, no signs of age on the pour. Nose of ripe black fruits, eucalyptus, some wood and spice. On the palate, gobs of black fruit, black currant, some oak but not interfering with the wine's fine structure or balance at all. Good complexity. Spicy with a lot of eucalyptus, and a certain earthiness. I was very surprised at how well this wine has aged, and really enjoyed it. It still has at least a few years to go, though drinking wonderfully now
Inky deep dark garnet in glass, with an unusual nose of coconut shavings, ash and luscious black fruit. Bright acids on the taste, without much fruit or tannin initially, but showing some capsicum typicity and rich loamy earth, ending on savory leather. Sweet dark fruit - plums, blackberries, dark cherries - emerge later with some time in the glass. Probably peaked ~3 years ago, still has some decent intensity and power, wait no longer - drink now!
