Red berries and raspberry seeds in an savoury way with spices of juniper and vanilla. Quite a lot of oak on the nose actually. Pronounced concentration, silky tannins and a long finish. 91-92 points.

Great nose of spice, red fruit, black fruit and wood. An oily quality with more dark and red fruit. The finish is long, but the tannin and alcohol can be felt. This needs time but will be quite good.

Had one week after purchase. Great 2009 burg. Nose slightly closed at first, then expanded to something special. Great nose, sweet tannins, drinking great now, but will be outstanding in a 10-30 years?? Having several Echezeaux recently, this is one of my favorites. Hope I live long enough to see it at its peak.

Barrel sample from 375 stateside, ie pre-blended. Incredibly smooth, with a nice tannic backbone. Seamless to the point of nearly forgettable, presents as nearly oily in how it blends together... Great wine, though I found better value in the lesser Jadot's at this point.

Barrel sample. Somewhat closed up, unfortunately, pretty quiet on the nose and not nearly as expressive as the '08 vintage of this was the last time we did this exercise with the samples. Lots of underlying material, but for now not much of it is unfurled.
