I took out of fridge, uncorked and left for 45 minutes. Wine was lovely but in primary fruit. Green apple, lemon curd, grass, parsley, lime, flinty youthful. An hour later the characteristics change with toastiness, nuts and pastry. Gosh this is riveting wine. Medium acid (!), light bodied, pronounced intensity, medium+ finish. Drink now with potential for further ageing. |

Zeer jong en dat merk je in de zuren (doet denken aan jonge Riesling). Nog zeer aanwezig en nerveus. Maar wat een mooie, strakke wijn. Wat een potentieel. Puur. Mooie florale neus (jasmijn, kleine toets vanille). In de mond Groene appel, citrus, stukje limoen, mineraliteit. Lengte in de afdronk. Mooie balans op komst, maar nu nog wat zoekend. De Loire op zijn best. 2de flesje vergeten in de keld |

Some attractive mineral-tinged crabappley fruit, and some thrill from the sheer acidity, but ultimately we didn't find it massively interesting (and it's not clear whether we would have done with five years more development either). |

White flowers with a touch of honeydew melon, then all sorts of other citrus and white pitted fruits. Distinctly mineral on the palate and finish. Honestly like great Puligny made from Chenin. Whether that type of thing appeals to you is a matter of taste. I think this is fabulous and drinkable now but will surely improve with time in the cellar. If I can, I'll wait a couple of years to try another bottle. |
