Flight 1 - Some bubbles to start (1 note)

White - Sparkling
1990 Moët & Chandon Champagne Cuvée Dom Pérignon France, Champagne
Very creamy lemon custard with a great yeasty brioche note. A nice way to start the evening.

Flight 2 - Blind Whites Flight (2 notes)

White
2000 Domaine Leflaive Chevalier-Montrachet France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru
Served Blind. Slightly golden color. A lot of lemon on the nose with wet rocks, lightly toasted nuts, and smokey oak. Creamy on the palate with huge mineral backbone. Long finish.
White
2000 Etienne Sauzet Chevalier-Montrachet France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru
Served Blind. A bit tarter yellow citrus fruit on the nose than the first wine with much more minerality. Bright yellow fruit on the palate with great acid structure. Lots of mineral with a great finish.

Flight 3 - Charmes Flight with a Combe d'Orveau thrown in for fun (5 notes)

Red
1999 Domaine Leroy Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Served Blind. Very pretty red fruits with a lot of wet stone as well. Rose petals. A slight green note, perhaps from the stems?. Very lush palate, great texture with good minerality. A terrific wine.
Red
2003 Domaine Leroy Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Served Blind. Very sappy dark red fruits. Briary. Pretty violet aromas as well. Lots of intensity; almost CA pinot like. Great ripe fruit on the palate with still a lot of elegance. Great acid/minerality balance. Gorgeous.
Red
1988 Domaine Jean Grivot Chambolle-Musigny La Combe d'Orveaux France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny
Served Blind. Somewhat dried red fruits. Confit red cherry and rhubarb as well. Decent on the palate with a lot of acid. However fell apart quickly in the glass.
Red
1998 Domaine / Maison Vincent Girardin Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Served blind. Very funky red fruit on the nose with a slight metallic note. Decent palate with ripe red cherry and berry. Very nice acidity on the finish.
Red
1996 Domaine Ponsot Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Served Blind. Sappy pure red raspberry on the nose with a bit of herb. Moderately ripe palate with a good bit of acid and a decent finish. Became very syrupy after 1/2 hour in the glass.

Flight 4 - Les Hauts Doix and Amoureuses Flight (4 notes)

Red
2001 Domaine Robert Groffier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Hauts-Doix France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Served Blind. Darkest red fruits of the flight. A bit of earthiness and a nice vegetal note. Ripe dark cherry and berry on the palate with a great finish. Some darker spice notes as well. Nice acid structure.
Red
1999 Domaine Robert Groffier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Hauts-Doix France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Served Blind. Intoxicated red fruit and berries on the nose with some blood orange and iron. Great fruit on the palate with a beautiful texture. Nice spice as well. Very well balanced acid and minerality. Lengthy finish. An outstanding wine. Surprisingly the best of the flight.
Red
2002 Domaine Robert Groffier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
After this disappointing showing of the 01 Amoureuses, we decided to pop this '02 that someone brought as a bonus bottle. A good deal of funky red fruit on the nose with some dark spice and minerality. A good palate, but not as good as expected. Not a fantastic night for Amoureuses.
Red
2001 Domaine Robert Groffier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Served Blind. Dark red cherry and cranberry on the nose with a ton of minerality. Good palate, but perhaps a bit lean. Very surprised when I found out this was the Amoureuses in the flight. Other bottles I've had of this have been much better.

Flight 5 - Feusselottes Flight (5 notes)

Red
2004 Cecile Tremblay Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Feusselottes France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Served Blind. A very pretty mix of red cherry and flowers with just a hint of greenness. Good ripeness on the palate with perhaps a touch more acid than the others in the flight. Nice finish. Showed very well.
Red
2003 Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Feusselottes France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Served blind. Faint aromatics of pure red cherry and berry, but perhaps a touch shut down. A pretty violet note as well. Very ripe on the palate with some nice minerality. A solid wine.
Red
2001 Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Feusselottes France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Served Blind. Briary red berry with some good earthiness. Beautiful palate - sour red cherry notes with good spice, great texture, minerality, and finishing acidity. A very nice showing.
Red
2005 Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Feusselottes France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Served Blind. Very primary dark red fruits. Tons of minerality with good fruit on the palate, but I have a feeling its not showing all that it can be. Really love the mineral backbone and acidity. Great stuff.
