Nice medium ruby color. Nose is light but definitely blue fruits, maybe mint. Still a bit tannic. But there’s some class there. All “Bordeaux”, just fairly short on the finish. Tasty though. Paid about $30, it’s an ‘okay’ value.

Color on the light side. Nose is really nice, prominent and pretty. Dark cherry, but I get some red fruits too, raspberry maybe, with lots of floral aroma. Juicy. Delicious, really. Not a lot of nuance, but drinking great right now. Superb value at $30 or less! 92+

Not a lot on the nose, but some black cherry there. Deeper flavors on the palate, plum and earthy flavors with the dark fruit. Some green notes as well. A bit odd tbh, in the way the plum and green come together. Benefitted with some decant time. Wouldn’t seek it out.

I found this to be a horrid Caymus. Huge fan of Caymus in the past. Even just gave a few of these 19s as gifts (ugh) without trying. Haven’t had the Napa in a few years but this drinks like a $15 bottle of cab. Soft, no acidity, candy flavors, almost phony tasting oak. Yuck.

This was the 2a. Beautiful and voluptuous, actually was thinking I’d opened a Syrah then looked at bottle and saw it was the Grenache. Medium ruby. Big nose. Lots of red berry and definitely nice acidity on the finish. Balanced. Drinking well, guessing it’s on a peak that will last a bit.

Pretty much popped and poured. Great nose, blackberry, camphor, jam, dark chocolate and cedar. More blueberry dominant on the palate. Loads of flavor and a great long finish. Very classy. Excellent. Still youthful, think this one has upside, and a long way to go. Got better and better as it sat in the glass, my rating might be too low!

Medium gold. Honey and flint on the nose. Nice lime and white fruit notes. Burgundian, lined up decently with a premier cru Puligny Montrachet tonight. Not much length, but very tasty and drinking great.

Pale gold. Nice nose, dominated by honey notes. Good acidity, pear and citrus fruits, even towards the grapefruit end. Had two bottles, pretty consistent. Drinking great, should be fine in five years. (None of the premox others seem to have experienced, fortunately.)

Light gold color. Nose was reductive at first. Later loaded with honeyed fruit. Really nice wine. Lots of white fruit underneath. Sure, it might get better but terrific now.

Great color. Decanted for 2-3 hours. Big fruit on the nose. Maybe a little dry on the palate, and still was feeling the tannins — enjoyed it more paired with dinner (grilled steak) than sipping afterward. Good wine, but I have preferred Poyferre from lesser vintages.

It’s a nice wine, but not a lot to it. Some pretty honeyed notes on the nose. Drinking fine, but short finish, and pretty light on flavor.

Tannic still, but try a glass after another day, or two. At minimum let this breath as long as possible. Really mellows. Nice lingering cherry notes, great juicy acidity. Stacks up with the better Langhe’s.

Light to Medium bodied. Some blood and meaty notes to both nose and palate. But also a lot of nice tart fruit on the palate. Some green notes. Can drink now. Nice.

Nose really leaps out with tons of red fruit. Drinking great, although surely young. Definitely some uniqueness to it, maybe a little barnyard funk (in the best of ways!). Terrific.

Definitely needed time and air. Started super pruny, but air and time helped. Not classic Montrose — lacks that great fruit— but decent with air. Just “okay”. (Maybe a subpar bottle based on others’ reviews but Montrose is a personal favorite and this was a vintage I’d skip.)

Great color and nose. Black cherry, tar, leather. A bit light on the palate but none of the heat of the vintage. Really nice, flavors linger. Not “special” in the Lafite/1st growth sense, but a beautiful bottle.

Nose is pretty awful. Prune, stewed tomato. Would think it was a shot bottle except this is Pavie, and not different from others (to me!). Palate for sure better. But definitely not for me. Hot. Has some decent dark fruit there but so over the top. Maybe I just don’t get it, as others seem to love it. Note: Just edited this after having another bottle (1/22). Same thoughts (initially didn’t add a rating).

Definitely looks like there is age, light color, orange at edge. Nose is okay, but some burned rubber in the background. Palate started okay but got pruny, and worse the longer it was in the glass. I bought this retail and more or less when it came out, and it’s been in a cold cellar. To be honest, I have 5 more bottles and have no interest in having another.

Nice, improved from what I remember of last bottles. Dark color. Plum and peppery notes on the nose. Some old world to it. But nice jammy dark fruits on the finish, with good minerality.

Good color, nose has a lot of black cherry and dark fruit, promising. A lot of tannin, even two hours in. I would guess softens and is better 2024+, but right now it’s tough. Would say 89-90, but maybe more potential.

Color is great. Some raspberry fruit in the nose, but some alcohol too. I think the fruit may be fading here, I believe I’ve had better bottles. Soft palate with a little more fruit there, but still some heat.

Possibly just a cooked bottle, wish I remember where I bought it. Pruny, tannic, funky nose.

Good color. Nose is dusky, some red fruit underneath but not giving a lot. Nice palate, and softened a lot after 20 minutes. Still some tannin there but probably won’t improve. But nice enough. 88-ish? I’m not putting in a rating: half bottle in restaurant served way too warm.

Nose was mind blowing, came across even as I decanted. Palate soft, nice fruit, but in my mind didn’t match the nose. No super rush to drink but it’s past it’s prime-prime. But a terrific and class wine still.

Good light color. Started nicely with light apple and saline notes, but quickly began to develop a funky odor and finish. Burned rubber came to mind. Drinkable but not for me.

Pale yellow. Great nose, leaps out with marmalade, lime and pear, maybe even a little grapefruit. White fruit dominant. Nice acidity and drinking great, very youthful. Almost get the sense of a sauv blanc with that juicy acidity and grapefruit note. But still some buttery classic chard as well. Different. 92/93

No rating (have a cold, my nose not up to it). Dark color. First taste out of bottle super tannic. Gave it a couple hour decant. Softened, but still a bit grippy. Definitely a “big” Bordeaux in style. But I don’t get the classic cab franc notes, which I suppose was disappointing as I bought it for that uniqueness (Italian CF). Suspect it needs 5 years. Think it’s nice one with time 90-94

From magnum. Great color and nose. Plum and dark berry. Palate is all class. Very soft on the palate with nice acidity and lingering black cherry. Some mild cedar and tobacco. Less Bordeaux-like, more Cali, relative to what I think they were going for? Nice but not special.

(I’m reviewing boxed version). A mild positive surprise. Color is great. Nose is fine. Drinks like a better than glass of house wine you’d be happy with at the average bar. Nothing too sweet, manufactured, off, etc. Haven’t had a lot of boxed wine (!) but at $14.99 for three liters that you can stick in the fridge and use to serve the in-laws? Why not.

Deep gold. Nose tells you right away this is a buttery wine, older style. But it IS drinking superbly, probably has deepened with age. Long long palate. Lemon curd, white fruit, but definite honey and butter. Not exactly for me but to be fair, amazing how nicely it’s aged, and it’s a high quality wine. If you prefer the style, 95+

Decanted an hour. Very light in color. Good nose. Rose petal, dark cherry, pretty classic. Drinking great, right now. Relatively light, but very nice and classy Nebbiolo. Softer and classier than next step down (eg Langhe nebbiolos…albeit 2x the cost)

Dark in color. Great nose, deep blue fruits like plum and blueberry, and floral notes as well. Nice. Tart palate, with nice juicy acidity. Maybe doesn’t deliver like the nose, but tasty. Drinking well now but should be fine for 5-10 years.

Pale color. Nose is great, green melon, pear and honey. Beautiful wine. Great, super long palate, acidity, white fruits. Aubert just crushing it. Burgundian…if that doesn’t undersell it.
Note: Read notes about too much oak. Don’t get it. Not this bottle.

Ruby red but light. Nose has licorice and eucalyptus with ripe raspberry, and dark berry dominates palate. Medium bodied. Very tasty, not complex but solid.
