Felt a little empty to me. Needed more body, especially on the mid-palate. Better with food than alone.

Sadly this was the last of my 2008s. Great right out of the bottle. The Cab Franc was clearly present. Great peppery nose to offset the black fruit. Simply terrific.

Great classic Cabernet nose. Normally a winner through and through but this one felt a bit thinner on the mid-palate than previous Buccella's I have had. Still great just not quite as great as others.

Simply outstanding. Purple to the core. It's the best of a Napa Cabernet with a slightly vegetal finish on the back end.

PNP. Seems like it still needs more time or a long decant to tame the tannins a bit.

Decanted 4 hours. A very good/excellent bottle of wine, but there's just nothing distinctive about it. Crimson colored. Pine needles on the nose. Medium finish. I got a pretty good deal on this and the 2009, but for the money I'd pass.

2.5 hour decant. I agree with the WS tasting note about black tea on the nose. Very interesting and enjoyable but there just wasn't enough fruit here to push this into outstanding territory. 89+

2.5 hour decant. WOTN against a 2006 Zapata Adrianna Mabec, 2004 Scavino Barolo Bric del Fiasc, and a 2005 Two Hands Ares Shiraz. This wine represented it's varietal best on this night. Simply an outstanding Cabernet.

I don't really know how to rate this because I don't normally drink wine this old. There was a musty, meaty odor that a few of us couldn't get past. On the palate there was some fruit and acidity...not at all dead. Just a tad funky. Not enough body to make it all that interesting.

Poor showing for this wine. Upon opening it had a funk that blew off after a half-hour or so. It was basically a wall of tannin and acidity. After an hour or so it opened up a bit but remained fairly flat and one dimensional. I'd suggest a long decant to any one partaking what is normal a great wine...

Fantastic as always. Chocolate and pomegranate seeds on the nose. Lobonick nailed it below except I wouldn't call it a fruit bomb. No jaminess to speak of and a hint of earth to keep it balanced.

I've read that the 07s are much more approachable than the 06 Brunellos. That may be so but this really needed time. Very disjointed on night 1 but came together night 2 to be a solid, if not memorable bottle. From memory, it was better on the palate than the nose. Light smoke and vanilla on the nose obscured the fruit. 86 night 1 and 89 night 2.

Slow o for 4 hours. Very dark purple color compared to the Camins del Priorat we drank with it. Very Jekyll and Hyde. No tannins present at first and it tasted just flat. A few minutes in the glass and it opened up to show nicely, but then fell flat again. Needs time maybe?
