Still tight. Hints at broad compkex white and yellow fruit with lush texture. Bracing minerality and it’s core. I will wait 3-5 years for next bottle.

Pleasant enough. Starts with lovely purity of strawberry, quince, and apple. Acidity gives way to Alsatian sugar and ends with just a touch of gasoline. New to us so fun and different. But not to be taken too seriously.

Exemplary older Bordeaux. Reacted quickly to decant. After 45 minutes rich but refined currant, hints of smoke and forest , still has structure. Silky long refined in the mouth. Aged beautifully but definitely ready, I would drink rather than hold any longer

Perhaps this exemplifies that, especially with older vintages, there are not chateaus, there are not vintages. There are bottles and provenances. After reading rave reviews was looking forward to. But was while pretty perfumed with solid traditional claret bones, thinning and just into decline. First bottle of the night was 82 Montrose, so that set a high benchmark. Will see what other bottle is like soon.
