Bright red, raspberry fruit, evolved tannins, refreshing acidity. This wine is drinking very well, and represents everything a Russian river zinfandel should be

First remember this syrah is planted in a warmer part of Sonoma county. Rich and full bodied flavors of blueberry and blackberry, mouth filling, long finish. Good acidity, continues to develop in the glass, deep purple color.

It had to be a flawed bottle maybe skunked. It is a twist cap so not corked. It certainly wasn't what I expected even being so inexpensive.

Nice berries, currants in the nose, medium full bodied, nice fruit on the palate, tannins have started to moderate. This wine renewed my interest in drinking cabs again

Wine still has a lot of tannin, an hour plus of being open really helped this wine open up, and come into balance

Fresh aroma, light fruit, deep purple, opaque color, full bodied. Blackberry and currant on the palate, not much oak is evident, tannins are still there, but in pretty good balance. The sixty four thousand dollar question, when to drink, I think this wine will hold up at least another five years, but is in a nice spot right now.

This wine has really held up well, it survived a plane flight to Florida and a car ride back to Michigan, plus aged nine years. Well balanced, fruit still red berry, and balanced with the acidity.

This wine is still hanging there, the fruit is fading, but it is still balanced, if you have any drink soon.

This wine was really drinking outstanding, it could have five to ten years ahead of it. Give it a little time in the glass the fruit really develops, very reminiscent of a northern Rhone.

Ripe black fruit, rich, somewhat muddy flavors, big wine. This wine is aging very well, a little bit of leather and meat, along with dark fruit on the nose. It would be great with braised short ribs

Rossi Ranch is in Sonoma Valley, normally I expect wine from here to be a little more ripe, but this has a level of red, briary, blackberry flavors, with nice acidity, that I normally get from Russian River. Another wow wine from Carlisle

When to drink California Syrah? I like to consume California Syrah while still has a nice edge, nervousness, this wine is right there bacon fat, spices, dark blue fruits, superbly balanced. I think this wine will probably for a year or two, but it is drink well right now. This was a pop n' pour, however it was really opening up after an hour.

Deep raspberry flavors, very well balance, Monte Rosso is always one of the most refined zinfandels, but alas the run of these wines from Carlisle is coming to an end

You buy expensive, highly rated wines with the hope that patient cellaring will reward you with a mature, elegant, nuanced wine, it doesn't always work out that way. But sometimes it does, dark berries, and a little bit of mocha, medium full bodied, with a complex finish. This wine has at least four or five years ahead of it.

Admittedly I have very little experience with Cabernet Franc as a varietal, but as an enjoyable glass of wine this was one of the better ones I have had this year. Drinking really well right now, blackberry, blueberry fruit, medium long finish, medium full bodied.

One thing Turley produces is these wonderful Napa valley zinfandels. I think 3 years may be near the perfect time to drink these wines, black currants, blackberries, some spice on the nose, beautifully integrated, with no sign of heat, medium full bodied.

Quite a wine, really drinking well. I think it has more complexity and depth than a normal Zinfandel because of the high percentage of Carignane.

I drink a lot of good zinfandel, it is my favorite type, but this wine has an exceptional nose and pretty fruit on the pallet, more elegance than power, truly excellent. Black cherry and currant fruit tones, no heat from it rather substantial AVB.
