Didn't expect much from this wine today after my first bottle over ten years ago, then just a light wine. This has developed a great deal at 17 years of age. Honey, pineapple in the nose and a lovely sweetness on the palate. Excellent quality, a "transparent" wine, letting you taste every single grape.

1/1 Another bottle of my absolue favourite of the Montosa vintages. Just great. I had Nonneberg and Schlossberg 2011 some 5 years ago. You could already feel the potential. Closed, massive, in particular the Schlossberg. These two are becoming stars in 5-10+ years. And then, tasting work to be done. Look forward to it ...

Improved but still quite young in the nose. Young colour, fruit, very tannic, needs air, I gave an hour. Gets smoother, however to a certain extent only. Storage will be awarded in 5+ years.

Bottle in very good condition, quite youth still, colours of a mature, just 20+ years Barolo. Tertiary notes. Tannins pretty melted, smooth elegant, what you would expect from a good Barolo. I thougt better to drink that bottle sooner than later but this one would have stayed 10+ years in that great condition. That's a 94p.

high fill, bottle stored in wine fridge at about 10°C. Dark ruby colour, needs lot of air. Overnight decant, opened up only in the glass. Lot of tannins, good fruit. I have one bottle left, will wait 2-3 years. 90-91p.

I drank half of the bottle about 3 (!) weeks ago and thought the wine was harsh and it was worth keeping the other half in my wine fridge. Today I was amazed to see this drinking quite well. Same category than some of the German prestige wineries entrance wines at a double price. I f you have it hold it for 2-4 years more. 87-88p

I drank this wine 8 years ago and it still has this sparkling note which also the dry wines of Maximin Gruenhaeuser wines have. Not what I like.

Had half of the bottle today, almost three (!) weeks in my wine fridge, only with a stopper, and the sparkling was gone. Amazing, the wine needed that air and opened up nicely. Sweet, full bodied, loverly, not like a dry Spätlese, no signs of ageing. Need to revise my scoring 4p up. Storing this wine will be awarded.

Decanted half of the bottle for 3 hours, kept the other half in the open bottle. Both developed then better in the burgundy glass. More open than about a year ago. Already very pleasant to drink. Glad to have some more bottles of this wine. 93-94p

Wonderful dry Riesling, full bodied, well balanced acid/fruit play. I kept a third of the bottle, corked, in a regular fridge for a week. Surprisingly the wine was well alive and, actually it had developed further. It showed a slight botrytis note. No sign of oxidation. No hurry.

Improvements since last time, which was about only 8 months ago. A great bottel. Decanted for 5 hours at about 17-18° Celsius. Dark ruby colour, no bricking, still quite tannic, fruit coming through in the nose with more air. The wine opened up further in the glass very well then, and tannins softened more and more by almost the minute...and etting tastier on the palate. This is drinking well now with a decant and air in the glass. In a couple of years this may be well all I expect from a classic and very good Batailley, ie, a though not too complex, robust, straight forward, enjoyable and affordable Pauillac. Like this. 92-93+

From 1/1. Confirmed once more, a truly great success for Breuer in 2011. Love this wine after, having tasted many times. Went actually well with goat cheese this time. Will look out for more of this. Agree, 92 is a high score, but Montosa 2011 deserves it.

No development over night. Worth to store for a couple of years in the cellar.

Last bottle out of three. Turned out to be the most mature bottle however the first to declare as past its prime. Again, this wine reminded me to a St. Julien, but more importantly, to a good bottle of aged burgundy. Very clear in colour and taste. Very little, almost none depot.

high fill, cork 1/6 soaked, a good bottle I suppose given some of the previous TN. Actually similar to a 2001 half bottle I drank 5 years ago which introduced me to this Chateaux. A delicious claret, rather light body with good sweetness and grip. Develops in the glass with a plummy and cozy note. I drank several other vintages of this wine in the last 3-4 years: 2002's about half of it gone, the other half almost this level, 1983 today a disapointment and ways gone, 2004's being still tannic but promising quality, 2009 very addictive in its early stage. This Chateaux in my view doesn't create a unique wine, however solid in any vintage, without reaching hights. A very good QPR though. 92p for this delightful wine.

From 1/1 bottle this time. Decided not to decant. The wine opened up well in the glass. Clear colour. I more and more believe, this a surprisingly good wine, not only QPR wise. Smooth in the middle, finishes with tar, black olives and is slightly harsh on the palate, i.e. still quite tanic. Which makes me think this will develop with 3+ years of cellaring. Again, I think, at this stage, this wine has characteristics of a Nebbiolo, also. Enjoy. 92p+

kept the wine in the bottle and, much smoother on day 4 with tannins having melted off significantly. this inded has improved +1 p. Worth cellaring

Best bottle out of four so far, one left. Light body, not much fruit but a smooth mouthfeel. Pleasant, nice. Quite young colour still. This bottle improved with air in the glass. I thought this wine needed the right temperature more than others, I liked it best at just below 20°C. I think a good bottle like this will stay for a while.

good bottle, fill just above neck, colour only a little bricking, banyard and bit wood in the nose. Decided to decant and thought it gets better overnight. It did not, unfortunately. GL is always good for a surprise. And I like GL, and though tis is not so bad for 25 years old in a poor vintage, a GL I would not buy again.

Not as good as the first bottle. very top shoulder. initially disappointing, however, such an improvement with only a 15 min decant. Would have given a 93+ but fair enough to give 94p. Worth to look after if you like a mature elegant cabernet. Excellent QPR.

guess maturity to drink this at real pleasure time depends on bottle and cellar. This bottle had a still quite good grip, even more than the Montestefano bottle same vintage drank a couple months ago. Lots of life ahead for this bottle though. Half of it decanted and drank right away, the other half kept in the bottle for about an hour. Decanted half opened up sooner than the the bottle half told for me this needs time and air for bottles in a good storage condition. Would recommend to rather store than drink today, if you can. its a good Nebbiolo based wine. A 93p+ this time, wish I had more for the next decade, my last bottle for this site & vintage of Prudutorri , sadly. A 93p wine.

wonderful fully mature Breuer Riesling, a dry Sauernes and very well aged Rheingau Riesling despite its only 12 years age. Light to mid golden colour, full body. Slight sweetness, velvet taste. Might lack bit minerality and depth vis-a-vis the other Berg-sites, still a success and will keep for a while. 94p.

My third bottle, only the first was mature, second and third way too young. Opaque colour, strong cassis nose. If you like mature Bordeaux, I recommend to wait another 10+ years, unfortunately. But you will be rewarded. Powerful wine, will easily have 20+ years to go. Decanted and drank this bottle over 4 days, left it in the decanter about room temperature of 20°C. Best on day 4 but still far from maturity. Not rated

no need to decant this anymore, enjoyable, typical 2011 vintage wine. Vibrant, thanks to the vintage rather a medium+ body, however in the very end a quite dry finish.

Top shoulder fill. Upon screwing, the cork dropped into the bottle. Lots of fine sediment. A light rose colour. A mufty smell and an old unpleasant taste in the first glass, did not vanish that day. I decided to pour the whole bottle into a decanter and left it the whole next day in a cool place. Then at night, the 'mufty & old' was gone. Actually a nice mature nebbiolo wine with a quite long and strong aftertaste. Day three showed more sweetness on the palate, possibly even better. Not sure this bottle was in the best condition. But it was amazing to see what air could do to the wine. Overall 92p.

better than 3 years ago. Not opaque but still youthful colour. 1/2 hour after decanting, already very nice to drink, a cosy Merlot mouthfeel, lots of fruit, and tannins giving a good grip. Tannins are smoother after an hour of decanting. Very tasty, good length. Agree this is more a Pomerol wine. Young but in the right stage to drink for a Merlot based wine. May get better but I wouldn't wait for years of ageing, in my opinion. I think this is best to drink in the next 5 years.
