12/17/23, 4:46 AM - What a lovely tasting note! More than just what the wine tastes/smells like, you communicated something of the emotion the wine procured, for which I thank you. Well done, Sir!
3/17/23, 4:38 AM - Wow, great note, thanks Keith. How do you feel about drinking this one now? Ordinarily I like to wait out on cru classé Bordeaux to start drinking at 10 years or so, but what you describe here has me wondering whether this would seriously be worth enjoying now for those elements you describe… was your note a subjective assessment of the now or some sort of future projection? Thanks!!
6/12/22, 10:31 AM - Thanks for the note, especially liking the sentiment in the last sentences: I heartily agree! Santé!
2/20/22, 12:32 AM - Nice! Thanks for walking us through your deduction process, very neat! And cheers for the data point on Peroline: will leave alone for a long while
12/19/21, 1:08 AM - Thanks for the note! You say ‘vapid 2016 vintage’. Does this refer to GPL 2016 specifically, or the vintage as a whole in Bordeaux? And what makes you feel this? Thanks!
12/11/21, 12:07 AM - Cool! Lots of wine geeks sing Burgaud’s praises here in France but I’ve yet to try his wines. Looking forward to checking this one out. Thanks for the great note!
12/6/21, 4:07 AM - Unlike, say Bordeaux where style can dictate picking date and ripeness, this is not what I associate making difference between trad and modern in Barolo. That distinction usually is down to length of maceration (long vs short/rotofermenter) and type/size of wood élevage (botti va barrique)
10/1/21, 2:11 AM - Wow, great note and very helpful as guidance on what to do with my 2 bottles! Thanks to your tip I will continue to sit on them, but this a recent flurry of notes on 2013 Baroli suggests it’s perhaps time to road test one or two of which I have more in the cellar. Grazie, et salute!
9/10/21, 5:11 AM - Thanks Jeff, had lined this up to drink at an upcoming dinner and your note just further confirms my intention!
6/29/21, 3:05 AM - Thanks for clarifying. Could you ensure to delete your 2019 note under 2020? Helpful not to bias the CT assessments. Thanks!
6/30/21, 11:40 AM - Bonjour, to delete a note you should find the link ‘edit’ on your tasting note and then scroll down to the bottom and the last button is ‘delete note’ . Et voilà!And I used to be in the Rhone valley; lived for 5 years in Lyon, but now moved to Sud-Ouest: I should change my username to GL Garonne instead!
4/9/21, 6:27 AM - Lol! Cheese rind is a marker of Dauvissat according to some people, and I think I agree!
9/22/20, 8:08 AM - Nice note, thanks. However Dalem is majority, if not 100%, Merlot rather than Cab Franc. There may be some in the blend though (<20%)
8/29/20, 8:30 AM - Yup, 2015 is a great year for this cuvée with all the Boscareto fruit. The 2016 doesn’t have this included and I felt was a step down.
8/27/20, 5:37 AM - Agree, absolute steal for the quality!
6/23/20, 6:17 AM - Very interesting indeed! I have a bottle lined up and am curious if it will come across in a similar way to me too... thanks for the note!
4/15/20, 1:15 AM - Thanks! How did you prepare for service, in terms of airing? Decant? Pop and pour? Slow-ox? Many thanks!
3/15/20, 3:43 AM - Thanks Tim, will heed your advice!
3/6/20, 3:54 AM - Actually, this isn’t just young vine fruit... in 2015 he didn’t make a Riserva Boscareto, so all that fruit went into the 2015 Serralunga villaggio cuvée
2/4/20, 7:17 AM - Great note, this is very helpful, many thanks!
1/10/20, 12:53 AM - Thanks, the plots thickens! This was a yellow label as per the Clos, just with Fleurie written on top, the picture of the horse and Coudert & Fils underneath. Back label said comes from vines at least 40yrs of age. Might be some combination as you describe...
12/31/19, 12:27 PM - Yup, these are definitely ones to wait on! Had the Cote Blonde ‘13 early last year and it was closed sooo tight! Will wait at least 5 before the next try! Having said that, I plan an attempt of the Combard ‘12 next week. Maybe with a really, really long decant? :-)
9/24/19, 7:04 AM - Thanks for the note. I’m tempted to pop one young now. How did you handle this? Decant? If so, how long? Thanks!
9/24/19, 8:47 AM - Great, thanks for the response!
9/5/19, 12:30 AM - Joli CR, merci! D’accord avec toi, c’est vraiment I’m cuvée unique dans l’appellation amho. Le 2014 m’avais bcp plu. Hâte de goûter le 16!
9/3/19, 3:32 AM - Hi there, actually this cuvée is 50% each of Syrah and Mourvèdre! La Boda means marriage in Spanish and it’s ‘cos he matches the two varieties from two sites. And yes, some altitude here in Montpeyroux
5/20/19, 10:23 AM - Ooh, this is tempting me! How did you treat this? Decant? Slow-ox? Pop-n-pour? Thanks!
10/12/18, 12:34 AM - Really great note: expressive and informative, thanks!
6/3/18, 12:12 AM - Thanks Eric, any reason to hold as sounds pretty good to go now?
6/6/17, 2:13 AM - Drink now or do you think merits being held? If lighter style, tannins already approachable? Thanks!
5/15/17, 11:37 PM - Punchy note! Better than 2010?
1/18/17, 3:22 AM - Thanks. Any sense to hold or good to drink now?
