Dark and red fruit on the nose. Mushroom and forrest floor.

On the palate you get a lot of juicy fruit. Cherries, raspberry and plum. Soft and delicate tannins. Very balanced and wonderful acidity.

Perfectly in balance. Surprising for such a young Riserva. Drinks wonderfully now!

This Roagna performed perfectly on the night.

Bright garnet red to the core without any browning or orang edges as Nebbiolo tends to show with some age.

The nose was floral, red berries, fresh, anise. Smells of big burgundy.

On the palate it was smooth juicy fruit, some wood tannins, but soft and delicately packed on top of vibrant acidity.
I absolutely loved this wine! Its absolutely ready to be enjoyed.

Blanc de noirs.
Light oxidative style. Oak, brioche, big structure with refined acidity.

Like a mini Krug. This was one of the best surprises for me at the tasting.
The 2008 still has a long way to go, but it was absolutely magical on the night.

Medium ruby color.

Nose of sour red berries, anise, grapefruit, and underlying alcohol.

On the palate it offers red strawberry, orange rind, sour cherry, tobacco, slight licorice and pomegranate.

High acidity, medium high tannin and long finish.

Very much in a young state at the moment, but highly enjoyable and approachable. Give it a good decant.
At the start of its drinking window.

Red fruit, bright acidity. Well balanced. Medium plus tannins.

Very well crafted wine. Juicy with a long finish. Could easily age further.

Incredibly well mature. Still quite filling in the mouth. Mellow tannic grip. Dark fruit, forrest floor, cocoa. Power and finesse.

I was really worries that this was well over, but it drinks beautifully.

Good stuff!

Stunning bottle.

Decanted for 5 hours which really opened it up.

Dark plush fruit, cherry, worn leather, dried herbs, eucalyptus.
Smooth tannins which are just dissolving on the tongue. Medium+ acidity. Long aftertaste.
Pure Serralunga power.

This was a near perfect wine for me.

When cold the nose shows quite some vanilla and yellow fruit. When it warms up, it becomes more subtle and a bit more alcoholic.

The taste is very fresh with a fat mouthfeel. I’d describe it as a mix between burgundy and riesling. An oily texture in the finish. Yellow and green fruit, lime. Long finish.

Very good wine, but maybe not worth the price to be honest.

Light transparent red color.

Nose of dusty red berries, sour cherries, strawberry, florals and sligt yoghurt-y notes.

Light palate that finishes rather short. I remember the 2017 as really fresh and vibrant. This vintage is more simple and one noted - at least at the moment. Red fruited with crisp acidity and light tannin.

A nice and refreshing wine that’s very chugable.

Light transparent garnet red.

Fresh and vibrant nose of red berries, red currant, rhubarb.

The palate is delicate and savory with red fruit but finishes rather short. A bit ‘flat’ and I can’t help to be somewhat disappointed.

This doesn’t live up to the superb freshness of the 2017 which I tried 3 years ago.

Maybe it’s too early to be drinking this. I’ll wait another year before trying the next bottle.

You can sense the quality. But it’s unfortunately in a semi closed state at the moment. A 1,5 hour decant wasn’t enough to awaken the beast.

Great depth, extremely elegant and nice fruit profile. But tight. There’s surely more to be enjoyed if you let it rest for another couple of years. Or maybe a longer decant would do the trick.

Leave it for now.

High class bombastic Chambertain.

Muscles, finesse, dark fruit, red cherries, wood and flowers.

Great glass with depth and complexity! A rather dark fruited style.

Some developed notes that would suggest a little bit of age. But tasting it blind people were calling everything from 2016 to 2002. I was pretty close at 2007.

Very pure and fresh in the fruit. Vibrancy and crisp acidity. Ready to be enjoyed if you like the softness and freshness. Fine grained tannin.

Nice and fruit driven Vougeot. Soft acidity with nice freshness. Chambolle-like style.
I could drink this all day.

Stunning nose. Deep golden color.

We were all guessing Puligny and bigger burgundy when tasting it blind. It wasn’t chalky or mineral like chablis typically is.

Super Aromatic, deep developed exotic fruit flavours with nice oak integration. Honey, yellow fruit and a silky oily texture in the finish. Absolutely superb wine!

Perfectly mature.

Opened 5 hours before. A quick decant, and the back in the bottle to slow ox until serving.

The nose was quite well developed, but still fresh. Dried flowers, earthy, Mushroom, dark cherries, leather and dusty red fruit.

On the palate it had velvety soft tannins that just coats the entire mouth. Sour cherries, tobacco, wood and earthy tones in complete harmony. Long lingering finish.
This is at peak, or maybe even a year or two over. Enjoy now!

From an off-vintage of white burgundy, but it won with time in the glass.

At first pour it was a little bit tight and mineral with citrus and sour apple. But it slowly opened up to an array of yellow fruit, lime. Well concentrated and with good length and a soft buttery feel on the palate.

Really well made wine from a great producer. Even though it might still be a little young.

Really nice expression of Godello from the master Godello grower.

Skin contact for 25-30 days during fermentation.

Slight golden color. Not much on the nose, but vibrant fruit and some vanilla notes on the palate. Give it time to open up.

Slight amount of tannin as well. Really interesting glass that develops during the time in the glass. Might suggest to wait a couple of years for it to fully be expressive.

Very light and juicy Frappato made with minimal sulphites.

Red currant, sour cherry, funk and green olives on the nose.

The palate is really juicy with beautiful balance and high chug-ability factor. Fantastic wine! A good alternative to red burgundy.

Nose of dark fruit, red cherries and fresh tobacco. Some funk. Low lvl sulfites.

The palate is really juicy with red fruit. It has some garnacha vibes mixed with some sangiovese traits. Even though its 50/50 Frappato and Nero d’Avola. Good glass!

Big and bold typical American Pinot Noir.
Sweet, too heavily oaked and lacks acidity.
Palate is full of red fruit and dark berries, baking spice and opulent fruit.

If you like this style, go for it. It does What’s its supposed to I guess. But half a glass, and I’m full. Onto the next one.

Superb balance between sweet fruit and acidity.

Notes of lime, candied apples, fresh green apples and honey with some stoney minerality on the back end.

Pretty aggressive bubbles, but the taste is really balanced.

I think that some years in the bottle has helped to smooth it out.

Tastefull but rugged experience. For the price of this bottle you could definitely but better champagnes.

Opened and decanted for just an hour before serving

Pours dark garnet with some orange nuances.

On the nose it offered slate, roses, underbrush, leather and spices, eucalyptus. Very tertiary. But with some dark fruit.

Smooth but grippy tannins. Dark fruit, spices, florals and leather on the palate. All very well balanced. Very rustic old school Serralunga Barolo.

Nose of sulphur. Like outside on new years eve as a child. Some chocolate and leather notes coming through after some Air. Amazing aroma coming off of this one.

Dark garnet color.

Weight-wise a medium wine. Deep and nuanced but it doesnt feel too heavy. Coffee, leather, chocolate, mushroom, smoke. Long aftertaste.

Feels like it has more to give in due time.

On the nose mature sweet fruit. Strawberry, cherry, oak, forrest floor and some vanilla notes.

Intense and fruit forward in the palate. Very balanced oak integration. And super mellow tannins. Probably wont benefit from further aging, but drinking very smooth now.

Medium color intensity. Garnet red.

Nose of red berries, sour red cherries, raspberry, also mushroom and dried flowers.

On the palate it has smooth silky tannins, cool fruity expressions and a long aftertaste. A burgundian Barolo from the top of La Morra.

Very light and breezy Barolo made in the classic style. Drinking well now but would probably keep well for another 5 years or so.

On the palate it is light and juicy with nice purity in fruit. Red berries, cherries, some red apple, forrest floor, green Mediterranean herbs.
Medium tannins that are silky smooth. A nice dry and lingering finish. Very balanced acidity.

A really decent glass with a long life ahead. It could develop further, but it is surely ready to be enjoyed!

Semi pale garnet red in the glass.

The nose on this was absolutely stunning. 11/10!
Fresh candied raspberries, funky roses, fresh cherries and strawberry jam.

The palate was silky smooth with medium tannins hiding behind fine fruit. Darker berries and cherry and roses. So smooth.

Everybody hatin’ on Barolo 2014 should try some right now. This is beautiful. I absolutely love this wine.

Drinking it blind everybody was talking spätburgunder. I guessed Burlotto Barolo Cannubi. Whoops.

Light golden in the glass.

On the nose it shows some maturity. Brioche, green candied apples, fresh citrus.

On the palate soft, fresh and with a nice mousse.

A really nice glass og champagne. But the price is far from justified.

On off the list. Probably wouldn’t buy it again, but definitely wouldn’t mind it being served.

Had as the finale of our Vietti Barolo 2010 horizontal tasting.

I was very worried that this would be very astringent, tight and down right unavailable at this moment.

However it stood up from the glass like a King on his throne.

This was by far the freshest of the bunch in both fruit, acidity and tannins. Young vibes.

Lots of juicy dark cherry, Earth, bramble, cocoa and violets. Really approachable even though some at the table called it a bit closed.

I really liked it but this has massive potential still.

However the palate was smooth with medium tannins and great acidity. Red fruit, some dark berries, juicy plums, smoke and leather. A powerful Barolo with finesse and elegance at the same time.

Had in a horizontal Vietti Barolo 2010 tasting.

Best Vietti of the night. Maybe? Most at the table agreed. I’m torn between this and the Villero Riserva.

Fragrant nose but still somewhat shut in on itself.
Fennel, Black cherries, dried roses, orange rind. Smooth tannins that coats the entire mouth. Lingering finish. Floral.

Unfortunately not too many notes taken beyond this. But what a fantastic wine.

Nose of warm ripe dark fruit, oak, coffee and pepper.

The palate was smooth and readily available. Decanted for 3 hours or so. Very beautiful fruit. Very well integrated tannins.

2008 was a weak vintage. But the best producers always produce superb wines. This is no exception. Well in its drinking window. Fantasticly smooth and enjoyable.

24 months in barrique (60% new). The Rocche MGA is a real ‘Grand Cru’ when talking vineyards in the area.

Dark garnet color with slightly browning edges.

Opened P&P.

On the nose Lots of dark sour cherries, fennel and roses.

Tannins are quite tight at first. After about an hour in the glass it really opens up. Lots of sweet fruit. Sweet dark cherries, red berries and fresh acidity. Long aftertaste with very present but not too overwhelming tannins.

A really nice glass with elegance and oppulent fruit at the same time. A very beautiful wine from a tough vintage.

A darker and more modern style which could still easily live another decade. But also very enjoyable now.

Some sediment.

Nose of fragrant black cherries, dried roses, tar and dark fruit.

On the palate it presents itself with nice freshness in the fruit, some deep earthy tones and a nice cherry / chocolate finish. Not totally fresh. Either it has some year to fully develop or it might need a little more decanting. This was opened at decanted for about 2 hours. It was fresh in the beginning but became a little more earthy after 3 hours.

Finely grained tannins which covers the entire mouth. Just a real pleasure to drink, but not fully convinced of its potential.
