Still very young and primary. I should have resisted the urge. If you have, hold for at least another 5-10 years.

Prob opened too early. Big mineral core. Great length.

Dark fruits and violets on the nose. Mid palate is plums and blackcurrant with a hefty dose of vanilla from the oak. Some heat and tannic grip on the back end. Modern new world style for sure, but balanced and well-made. Delivers the goods if you're having with red meat.

Aromatic, spicy, fruit still fleshy, not a lot of minerals--but enough to get a grip on the palate. Just moved into our first house and popped this to celebrate...went well with roast chicken.

A bit thinner than other vintages I've had. Good, but doesn't have the stuffing for the real long term.

Went very well with the cornish game hens served.

On it's way downhill. Deep golden color with an oxidized taste leading on the palate...still some fruit at its core but def past it's prime. The slightly oxidized taste went surprisingly well with Dungeness crab, though. Drink up.

Very deep, dark brooding pinot...enjoyable. Very California-styled (not surprising), was hoping for more of a mineral component. Still very nice though.

This was fantastic--earthy, and sappy with layers of earth and acidity perfectly framing a taught, deep core of rich fruit reminiscent of the style of Domaine de Montille (really). Very balanced with wonderful definition on the palate. Not only is this worth the price but I believe it's a great value (need to buy more).
Red
Was still very tight on the nose...should have waited. Delicious, though.

Very balanced and delicious. Typical Montille style (gorgeous pinot fruit and spice perfectly framed by a "V" of acidity). Went well with my seared tuna. Looking forward to tasting how my '06 Aux Malconsorts will be in a few years if this is any indication.

Strawberries, crazy floral on the nose, juicy acidity and minerality on the palate. Yum.

Amazing depth on the nose. Layers of fruit, tannin and spice on the mid palate. Punctuated by the perfect amount of acidity. Love it.

Purchased direct from Mondavi Winery's cellars. Classic aged California cab. Too bad the alcohol levels have risen so much in the valley since 1996...at 13.5% this is perfectly balanced and has aged gracefully.

Dark brick red with some browning at the edge. Previous tasting notes from other users led me to believe that it would be very fragile, but I didn't find this to be the case. After the brett blew off I found it still to have a wonderful core of red and black fruits and light, dusty tannins. It continued to improve over the next couple hours. The tannins fading away to reveal a wine that still had remarkable freshness for being a 27-year-old Napa cab.

Definitely at the point where you should drink up if you have it, though. Too bad it's hard to find Napa Cabs these days with such low alcohol (12.5%) as it's still perfectly balanced at such an advanced age.

As previously said by other users, a thick steak would be too much for this wine. Had it with a rustic chicken sausage dish that worked perfectly.

Ate with a strip steak at Compass on the upper west side. Amazingly fresh on the palate and kept unfolding as the evening went on. Awesome.

I have mixed feelings about Brewer-Clifton's Chardonnays. They do possess a great mouthfeel with complex flavors and aromas with a nice amount of acidity to balance out the finish. I enjoy them, but the alcohol levels are so high that I sometimes have a hard time tasting or smelling any of the good stuff.

Fabulous. Fruit, tannin and acidity are all perfectly balanced, drinking well now. Wonderful notes of chocolate and dark fruits. Remarkably similar to a great vintage of Lynch-Bages. Had it with steak au poivre and it was a perfect combination.

Delicious, laser-pure fruit balanced out with plenty of structure. Should be interesting to see where the other bottle of mine is at in a few years.

A replacement bottle that was exchanged for the corked one. Much better on the nose...complex and delicious. Needs time in the bottle to develop more secondary characteristics, though.

Some bricking at the edge. The nose is complex...the fruit has taken a back seat to aromas of earth and spice. On the palate it's a bit thin...def in the middle of a downhill slide. Although there's still plenty here to enjoy. Drink up.

Drank over two different nights. First night it was very fruity and tight on the nose. Kept in the refridgerator and opened two nights later to find a nose that had gained considerable Bordeaux-like floral notes. Nice..

This bottle obviously sat unprotected on the shelf for 8 years but still managed to hold itself together in a very impressive way. I sigh to think what I've missed by not getting the opportunity to taste a bottle that had been cellared properly, but this was still very enjoyable.

I think I opened this too soon. The wine was very tight and acidic upon opening...sitting in my small carafe for over an hour brought out a bit of its perfume and fruit. Needs time, I just don't have any more room in my tiny cooler for wines that need years before drinking.
