Opened ~3hrs before drinking. Beautiful nose but still a little tight on the palette. With additional time opened up beautifully. Sure, fruit has faded a bit but drinking great right now. Blueberry, plum, & a hint of cranberry.

Comparative tasting with a selection of 1998 Bordeaux. It showed well but was outclassed by Langoa Barton and Las Cas. A little less powerful but it tasted well the following day and after sealing with a Vacuvin. Still good value
Cellared since release. Coravined on Nov 13, 14, 15, finished Nov 16. Deep purple to the rim in the glass. The nose featured black fruit and hints of tobacco. The wine was full bodied with rich fruit and impressive creme de Cassis. The was good acidity and good balance, and integrated supporting tannins to go along with a 10 second finish. This second wine of Leoville Las Cases was extremely enjoyable, seemed youthful, and probably drinking at its apex now. I believe this is true of most 2000 Bordeaux that I've had tasted recently. In my opinion it has another 5 to ? 10 years ahead.
92 points. The score would have been higher with a longer finish

Perfect cork, initially the nose and taste were funky. This all cleared up with a one hour decant. Medium ruby, tannins mostly resolved. Fully mature for my palate but not headed down. Cedar and ripe fruit. Very nice.

A bit dry and fading, and not particularly complex.
