Aged character evident in the red-to-maroon, slightly pomegranate color that is somewhat deep and very translucent. Lingonberries, cranberries and sweeter strawberry aromas at first; later on earthier and meatier aromas join the show. In the mouth the wine appears quite light with nice, juicy acidity. The lively taste full of fresh lingonberries seems to avoid the center of the tongue and is thus more evident on the sides of your tongue. Nice, leathery aged character supported by complex taste of lingonberries, earthiness, some smoke and a touch of old oak. Unfortunately the wine finishes short and thin with a simple, reticent flavor of lingonberries and cranberries.
At original price of 15-20€ the wine has been more than an excellent buy, but nowadays, fetching 50€ at best, definitely not worth the buck. Nice, aged Village-level Pinot that will keep for a handful of years, but performs well right now.

Burgundy holiday 2012; 3/22/2012-3/29/2012 (Beaune, France): From a 375ml. Quite rich and darkly seductive, still very primary, but the tannins has melted away if they were once heavy. Nice complexity, good length, a really good village Vosne.

Definitely showing age but drinking nicely if you know what to expect. Enjoyed with a rack of lamb for Christmas Eve

Pronounced nose intensity with earth, mushroom and cooked red fruits. Medium tannin and medium acidity.
