  Tart dried cherry, well worn leather, tobacco, mushroom, and Montalcino terroir! Lingering finish. Drinking beautifully now.

  The winemaker describes this as ‘baroque’ which I don’t fully understand, but it sounds awesome and I’m stealing it. Becoming complete but nowhere near its peak, this is excellent. The high-toned elegance and delicacy Fuligni’s wines exhibit in their youth are here swathed in tertiary notes of tobacco, leather and liquorice - adding depth and body without overwhelming the purity and drive of the red fruit profile. Sweet cherry and fresh raspberry, some mint, a touch of eucalyptus. Tannins are present but becoming resolved, and the acidity is bright, almost cutting. It finishes fresh and long.
