Gold. Aromas of ripe melon, apricot, candied orange, marzipan, raisin and crushed gravel. Hint of honey. Mid-weight. Cidery acids and gingery bitterness. Palate of winter apple, walnut, apricot pit, papaya, acacia blossom, wet grass and oyster shell. A fully mature yet vibrant and complex wine with yellow and exotic fruit, beautifully bittersweet on the palate and a long delicate ocean minerality finish.

Farewell Filippo, Il Duomo table (La Trompette, London): Light to mid gold. A slightly tired waxy, lanolin nose but far more with it on the palate. A little beeswax and furniture polish on the nose too. With air it develops a touch of toffee and bruised apple. Splendid with food. A lip-smacking quality here withou any sweetness. (*)***

Laville Haut Brion Blanc Dinner (Tocqueville): Beeswax, smoke, lemon curd. Smells amazing but the palate is actually a little thin. Apricot. Oxidative. Tangerine.

Unfortunately, I waited too late on this one. Dark yellow, fruit depleted.
