  • Still quite youthful with good sappy yellow fruits and a taut minerally character. The texture is a touch waxy and creamy with a slightly oily ooze. The finish shows excellent intensity with complex notes of orange zest and brown spices. 80% Semillon. 92+

  • Better as soon as the cork is popped when it displayed a lot of the characteristic grapefruit, dark yellow flower and mineral. The longer you hold it the more it’s character seems to evaporate though. Nice texture. Puzzling. K thought it tasted old.

  • It took some coaxing to bring out the reticent notes of citrus, lemon, lime, orange, white peach, flowers and honeysuckle. Rich, intense and full on the palate. The wine offers a blast of minerality and fresh, crisp, yellow citrus with a dab of honey on the palate and in the finish. If you are lucky enough to have a bottle or two in your cellar, wait a decade or so before popping a cork.

  • It’s still too young for prime time. Unusual density of texture and top note of lime blossom for white Pessac-Léognan. But after initially peeking out it closes back up and exhibits mostly juicy lemon and lime acidity. Very good future and while enjoyable now in an embryonic way, it really needs a good sleep.

  • This may be the most seductive white wine I have ever drunk. In the spectrum of dry white Bordeaux where all of them are delicate and subtle, the 2010 La Mission Haut Brion is bold by comparison. Elusive, charming, flavorful. Yellow fruit, lemon, grapefruit, pineapple and lime. The 81% Semillon shows in the creamy texture. Compulsively drinkable despite its mellow flavors. Intriguing. Great balance, no heat from alcohol despite the heady 14.2 ABV. Bright future, already delicious.
