Lovely, complex nose with red cherry notes, strawberry, and underwood. Nice acidity on the palate with more cherry notes, flowers, red fruit, and quite a bit of spices towards the finish. Nice length. A very pretty, well aged wine that is drinking perfectly!

A very generous friend opened and shared this with me. Initially quite wound as we chilled it a bit too long. Then it kept opening and opening and wow, this has plenty of stuffing to easily go another decade IMHO. a pretty nose with red fruit and forest floor and funk; lots of power and coil underneath the silky red fruit; terrific acidity; long finish that kept getting smoother and more rounded as it opened. We likely drank too much prior to it opening - this could use at least a one hour decant; two hours would also be fine - and probably finished the last sip well before we should have as it just kept opening, evolving and getting better. I loved this.

A superb bottle from what may be Rousseau's most misunderstood wine, one that needs a very long time to show its full potential. Dark, perfumed fruit in nose and mouth, an ethereal body, penetration, and all the precision and freshness one expects from 1993. So different from the Dujac, Lignier, and Ponsot versions of this wine. Can last for a decade or two more, at least. Cellared since original release.

Quite good considering mixed reputation of this bottling from Rousseau. Nose is reserved, quite sappy, tartness, bramble, red fruit forward. Lacking a bit of definition and length. Short of greatness for this great vineyard and winemaker.

Burghound Symposium Asia - Clos Saint- Denis vs. Clos de la Roche dinner (Hong Kong): Pretty nose, spices. Palate leaner than the other samples. Like the 2002 this could benefit from some more stuffing.
